Hey everyone, I'm an Indian American. I live in a place with decent number of nepalis. Indian looking nepalis, i think they're brahmins not sure, they are very friendly and maybe feel some kinship with india. many even do bollywood and bhangra dances at our uni, talk about the movies, actresses, they see us as brothers and same from our side. but the east asian looking ones always seem to have this hatred towards us indians. they call us black, dhoti (which i figured is a very derogatory term for indians), rapists, creepy, etc both men and women. Sorry im not trying to hate on east asian looking groups in nepal but i cant deny this either that they overwhelmingly dislike indians for some reason. they mock our accents too. I thought nepali people hated india cause of political tensions but it seems like nepalis (especially eastern/tibetan looking ones) hate us for our appearance and personality. Is this a way to distance themselves from india and pull closer to china?
and online, most racist comments i read regarding india have tibetan sounding names, who i assume are pretty much east asian groups of nepal. They have names like tamang, sherpa, limbu, gurung, shresta, etc.
